We are seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to join happy droid’s product design team. You will be part of the hardware engineering group responsible for conceiving, designing and scaling robotics products from concept through production.
Core expertise should include the design and manufacturing processes of metal and/or polymer components. We need people who are detail-oriented while maintaining a strong view of the bigger picture. The ability to break down complex problems, define requirements, and prioritize work effectively will be key to success at happy droid.
The candidate has a creative and practical mindset, with demonstrated experience scaling products and understanding the full product life cycle. We are looking for self-motivated individuals who inspire and support a team, while also being able to independently drive their own work.

Electrical Engineer: Power Electronics

We are looking for an experienced electrical engineer to join happy droid’s engineering team. You will be designing and validating the power electronics that sit at the core of our robotics platform, as well as supporting the design of the many distributed PCBs throughout the system.
The candidate has a creative and practical mindset, with demonstrated experience building production quality hardware. We are looking for self-motivated individuals who inspire and support a team, while also being able to independently drive their own work.
Core expertise should include design of power electronics for battery powered products, including part selection and layout of performance critical sections of the PCB. We need people who are detail-oriented while maintaining a strong view of the bigger picture. We are looking for an experienced firmware engineer with a passion for robotics to join happy droid’s engineering team. You will be leading the firmware development for our smart actuators and sensors.
The candidate has a creative and practical mindset, with demonstrated experience building production hardened firmware. We are looking for self-motivated individuals who inspire and support a team, while also being able to independently drive their own work.
Core expertise should include writing production quality firmware, developing real time control and sensing algorithms, as well as bringup of new boards. We are looking for an experienced software engineer with a passion for building software to join happy droid’s engineering team. You will be designing and implementing the real time and performance critical part of our robotics software platform.
The candidate has a creative and practical mindset, with demonstrated experience building production hardened software. We are looking for self-motivated individuals who inspire and support a team, while also being able to independently drive their own work.
Core expertise should include RTOS configuration and usage, writing Linux drivers, as well as writing and profiling performant code. We are looking for an experienced software engineer with a passion for building software to join happy droid’s engineering team. You will be architecting and implementing the core software application that runs our robotics platform as well as building tools to control the robot and collect data for AI training.
The candidate has a creative and practical mindset, with demonstrated experience building production hardened software. We are looking for self-motivated individuals who inspire and support a team, while also being able to independently drive their own work.
Core expertise should include architecting and building C++ applications, managing streams of data, multi-threaded event driven design, designing and working with APIs, and using software design patterns. We are looking for an experienced AI engineer with a passion for working with real hardware to join happy droid’s engineering team. You will be leading the effort of bringing physical intelligence to our products.
The candidate has a creative and practical mindset, with demonstrated experience training and deploying RL policies to robots. We are looking for self-motivated individuals who inspire and support a team, while also being able to independently drive their own work.
Core expertise should include building robot and actuator models, designing rewards, training and deploying RL policies, and analyzing data to close the sim2real gap. We need people who are detail-oriented while maintaining a strong view of the bigger picture. The ability to break down complex problems, define requirements, and prioritize work effectively will be key to success at happy droid.
